For your consideration is a fossil wood boulder opal from Queensland, Australia. It features very bright (4/5) 100% Non-directional blue and green pinfire, with some yellow and & accents. Unusual for this material is the very dense, espresso-toned matrix that took a super high polish. This freeform shield-cut gem weighs 12.42 carats. It measures 25mm long by 13mm wide by 5mm deep. No cracks or crazing in this gem and minimal putting. As always, this is an ALL-NATURAL, untreated gemstone.
