Palm description:
Jubaea chilensis (Wine palm) is a single-trunked, pinnate-leaved palm growing to 20-25 m tall. The trunk is the stoutest of any palm, commonly a metre diameter at the base, sometimes up to 1.3 m diameter, often widest in the upper part of the trunk, with smooth grey bark.
The dark green pinnate leaves are 3-5 m long, with pinnae to 30-50 cm long closely spaced along the rachis. Despite the length of the leaves, they often look disproportionally small compared to the massive trunk, particularly on larger trees. The leaf bases persist as grey-brown stubs for a while on young trees, but fall cleanly on mature trees
This impressive slow growing palm is distinguished by its wine bottle shaped trunk. Endemic to Chile, there are over 100,000 specimens growing on steep ravines at high altitude. Mature trunks yield syrup, sometimes harvested locally to make palm wine or treacle.  The seeds are edible too, with the appearance and taste of mini coconuts. Jubaea will thrive in locations that have mild winters and cool dry summers. It can tolerate temperature dips down to -15°C (5°F).

In a rare case of dead on arrival, Buyers must take a picture of the plants in unopened bag condition and send the photo to my message. After we receive the clear photo, we will email you to discuss possible refund or replacement. The cost of shipping to returns items is the responsibility of the buyer and must use priority mail.
DEAD ON ARRIVAL OR DAMAGED PLANTS OR BOXES:
Plants tend to suffer when on shipping. It is normal for them to lose some leaves, get a lighter or darker color or even to smell funny and look mushy. Remember that the plants have spent 3 days inside a box with no water sunlight or proper air. They will recover their normal color and grow once established.
IF YOU RECEIVE EXTREMELY DAMAGED PLANTS, FROZEN PLANTS OR A BOX THAT HAS BEEN BROKEN OR DAMAGE IN ANY WAY PLEASE TAKE PICTURES.
The only way to prove that your plants arrived dead is taking a picture and sending the picture to us. There is an option on ebay messages to upload pictures. After the delivery of the box you have 24 hours to send a picture of the dead plants. We will refund or replace the damaged plants.
